Accessibility statement

1. Scope and reference standard

This declaration covers the first-party public HTML pages listed in the rdcmexico.com sitemap, their Spanish, English, German and French versions, the custom 404 page and the PWA offline pages. It includes the homepage, RDC Mexico Initiative, maturity assessment, privacy policy and public statements.

Downloadable PDF documents and linked external websites are outside the scope. The declared conformance is WCAG 2.2 Level AA and relies on HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA in modern standards-supporting browsers.

2. Measures implemented

Accessibility is incorporated into the site’s structure, interactions and presentation preferences.

• One main heading per page, heading levels without skips, navigation and main-content landmarks, footer, and a skip link.
• Keyboard navigation, targets at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, dual-contrast focus indicators and scroll margins that keep fixed controls from hiding focus.
• Labeled forms with suitable types and autocomplete, instructions, native validation, identification of the unanswered assessment item and aria-live feedback.
• A native dialog for the trilemma with button, backdrop and Escape closure plus focus return; the preference panel exposes aria-pressed and aria-expanded states.
• Empty alternatives for decorative imagery and company-aware alternatives for published logos; external links have understandable purposes.
• Reflow without horizontal scrolling at 320 CSS pixels, fluid layouts, browser zoom support, larger-text support and system typefaces.
• Text, component and state contrast checked in light and dark modes; focus uses white and blue rings.
• Automatic prefers-reduced-motion support plus a manual motion control.
• A combined accessibility and sustainability widget with nine presentation and consumption preferences.

3. How we check

The July 15, 2026 self-assessment reviewed the 21 HTML routes in the sitemap, the 404 output and four offline pages. Structure, reading order, accessible names, forms, dialogs, keyboard logic, focus, reflow, motion and contrast were inspected in both themes.

Every release runs a production build and automated checks for routes, unique identifiers, internal fragments, headings, image alternatives, forms, ARIA states, responsive rules and critical color pairs. Knowledgeable human review remains necessary: no tool alone establishes conformance.

4. Out-of-scope content and observations

The Corporate Digital Responsibility Playbook and Digital Ethics Checklist are externally authored documents and are not part of this claim; RDC Mexico has not audited them for full screen-reader accessibility.

Linked external websites, including international initiatives and social networks, are outside our control. The EcoWebCO2 badge embedded in these pages was reviewed as part of the interface, and its Spanish content is explicitly identified with the correct language.

This is a self-declaration, not W3C certification or an independent audit. If a barrier blocks content or an action, email support is available while we investigate.

5. Maintenance and continuous improvement

We review this statement after significant design, content or functionality changes and at least annually. If a page stops meeting the declared level, we will correct it or temporarily remove the badge.

The widget does not replace an accessible foundation; it complements semantics, keyboard support, contrast and responsive design.
